A tie featuring dreaded Doctor Who enemy, the Daleks, is in a list of predicted top selling Ties this Christmas.
The stylish black tie includes a sound effect of a Dalek saying ‘Exterminate’ and is tipped to be a best seller by the UK’s leading online tie retailer TieWarehouse.co.uk.
Other best sellers in the Christmas 2008 prediction list include a tie based on Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon album, and one packed with Scottish Saltires
Jason Winter from Tie Warehouse said: “We are expecting to see novelty ties being as popular as any Christmas, even with the way economy as it is at the moment. People may be spending less this year, but they can still purchase a novelty tie at a reasonable price.
“They may buy their dad or other favourite male relation a tie that reflects their interests, such as an adult love of Simpsons or nostalgic feelings towards Laurel and Hardy .
Jason’s predictions for the top 3 best selling ties this Christmas are:
A great tie for Laurel and Hardy fans!
A black Dalek tie with the text “Exterminate!”
Homer Simpson in his underpants!

James Bond is a man who makes wearing a tie look cool in the new 007 movie – and now you can emulate Bond’s style.
The UK’s leading online tie retailer TieWarehouse.co.uk has picked a handful of ties similar to those seen round Daniel Craig’s neck in Quantum of Solace.
They are all dark ties, reflecting Bond’s mood in the new film, set a few hours after the previous movie Casino Royale ended.
Jason Winter from Tie Warehouse said: “Bond is likely to be very serious and brooding in this film as he reflects on the betrayal and death of his lover in the last film.
“We will see him in lots of dark suits with dark coloured but stylish ties, as shown in the posters and trailers so far.”
Jason added: “The good thing about plain dark ties is that it’s very easy for anyone to emulate the Bond look! We have picked a number of clip-on ties so the knot is perfect every time.”
Jason’s pick of the Bond ties are:

A business based in Dartford has beaten hundreds of other retailers across the UK to win a major internet shopping award.
TieWarehouse.co.uk, based in ,Crossways, was picked by its own customers as having the best customer experience for buying clothing and accessories.
Owner Gary Baker picked up the Circle of Excellence Platinum Award from price comparison website Shopzilla.co.uk at a champagne ceremony in London.
He said: “What makes this really special is that our customers voted for us. They rated Tie Warehouse across seven areas such as on-time delivery and customer service.
“To win such a prestigious award is a major coup for a Kent business. We beat off competition from hundreds of other online clothes retailers. That’s made the whole team here really proud of what we’ve achieved in just four years.”
Gary set up Tie Warehouse in January 2004.
It has nearly 2,000 different designs and styles of ties and accessories in stock at any one time, with approximately 100 new products added every month.
Scott Macon, managing director of Shopzilla Europe, added: “The Circle of Excellence Awards recognises the very best online retailers as voted for by the people who really matter, their customers.
“Tie Warehouse has shown it is up to the task of meeting its customers’ very high expectations.”

Justin Timberlake wears them. The Dark Night’s Joker looks the part in them.
Everywhere you go, someone has them. We’re talking braces, not the metal on
the teeth braces, but trouser braces, today’s hottest fashion item.

The rise in popularity is clear to see, with celebrities such as Justin Timberlake showing off braces in a fashionable and stylish manner. Timberlake famously wore a wicked pair of red leather braces, in the video for the song Ayo Technology back in 2007.
You may also have noticed another example in the smash hit film The Dark Knight, with a stylish pair of purple diamond braces worn by the late Heath Ledger, in his starring role as the Joker .
If star celebrities are wearing them then surely braces are a new must have fashion accessory?

If you were around in the 80’s, you’ll have no problem remembering a Rubik’s Cube.
The Rubik’s Cube is still as popular today as it was in the 1980’s, with children (and adults) of all ages trying to solve the fascinating puzzle. We all remember the sweat and tears, all those hours wasted and becoming obsessed, yet still not solving it. This is just simply what made the 80’s fun!
No doubt some of you tried smashing them to change the pieces around, or painting over the colours so they would all match. I just wonder how many people actually managed to solve it without cheating? Those select few who did must have experienced a feeling of satisfaction we are all envious of.
Now you can relive those days with a fab pair of retro Rubik’s Cube cufflinks from Tie Warehouse. These will definitely take you back in time, and you won’t need to worry about becoming addicted and losing all that time again, because the cubes are fixed and cannot be moved! Hope you like them!

Sales of ties are being driven up in the UK because men are choosing to wear them rather than feeling they have to.
The UK’s leading online tie retailer TieWarehouse.co.uk reports its sales are up 20 per cent year-on-year.
Reports at the weekend suggested sales are up as worried workers smarten themselves up in the face of redundancies caused by the credit crunch.
But Tie Warehouse has found that the increased sales are down to people choosing to wear a tie as a fashion statement.
The website’s Gary Baker said: “We’ve always said the tie isn’t dead - it’s just moved from work wear to casual wear.
“There was a period a couple of years ago when dressing down in offices meant many traditional tie wearers stopped wearing them. But that trend has started reversing recently as many workers choose to look smarter. When wearing a tie is optional it becomes a personal statement.”
Tie Warehouse has also noticed a flurry of tie sales driven by celebrities and bands.
Skinny ties and square-end ties are especially popular at the moment.
Despite the increased sales, one side of the business does seem to be seeing the effects of a slowdown in the economy.
Customers are starting to choose cheaper versions of ties used for one off occasions, such as wedding cravats.

David Beckham has been named the UK’s best dressed celebrity dad for the third year running.
Becks won the Fathers Day poll run by the UK’s leading online tie retailer TieWarehouse.co.uk, picking up 41.2 % of votes cast.
Becks had a tough battle for the top spot with TV Personality Vernon Kay coming into the runner’s up position with 21% of votes cast.
And the lovable Richard Hammond came third in line with 9.2 % votes.
Poor Gordon Ramsey came last in the stakes, so perhaps its best to say he should just stay in the kitchen!
Tie Warehouse’s Gary Baker said: “Voting has been fierce this year but David still proves he is front in the fashion line of celebrity dads.
He added: “It would be interesting to run a poll next year to find out if Victoria Beckham is the best dressed celebrity mum!”
The full results are:
David Beckham 41.2%
Vernon Kay 21.0%
Richard Hammond 9.2%
Gavin Henson 5.0%
Andrew Flintoff 5.0%
Colin Farrell 5.0%
Adrian Chiles 4.2%
Peter Andre 3.4%
Steven Gerrard 3.4%

Votes were cast at the Tie Warehouse website www.tiewarehouse.co.uk between Monday 12th May – Friday 30th May 2008.
