UK Company brings tie aid to Hungarian businessmen

A UK Company is jumping to the rescue of Hungarian businessmen who face a scruffy future thanks to a tax on ties.

Under recent government proposals, Hungarian men will be hit with a new tax on their neckwear.

So the UK’s leading online tie retailer, Tie Warehouse, has promised to send a relief panel of ties to Hungarian businessmen in order to save them from scruffiness!

Gary Baker of Tie Warehouse, said: “The last thing I want to happen is for tie-wearers in Hungary to have their wallets as well as their collars being squeezed.

“There is no need for people to pay an added price just to look smart, that’s why Tie Warehouse will send a relief selection of ties to help tie free Hungarians during the tie-tax crisis.

He added, “I hope tie aid will save the men from becoming messy as I can imagine many will resent going to work or a special occasion dressed in full attire at additional cost.”

Tie Warehouse was set up in January 2004 and is based in Greenhithe, Kent.

There are more than 1,500 different designs and styles of ties and accessories in stock at any one time, with approximately 100 new products added every month.

A tax on ties?

If you thought ties were a dying a fashion (and you would be wrong by the way!), the Hungarian government would beg to differ. The minister of culture has apparently proposed a new tax on ties, claiming that as wearing a tie is a sign of culture, the culture ministry should benefit from it!

Well ok, what they’re really saying is that ties are designed by designers and design is art and art is culture, therefore… you get the idea, even if it is a little stretched.

One thing’s for sure, Gordon Brown may have been the king of stealth taxes, but even he never came up with taxing men’s neckwear!
